“Weeping may last through the night,
but joy comes with the morning.” [Psalm 30:5]
Everyone, everywhere has experienced pain. It’s the byproduct of living in a broken world, it’s the symptom of the enemy at work. Pain is a direct result of the war for our hearts.
But – in the Good News of Jesus, pain is not the end. Pain does not last, and it does not have the final say. Weeping is real and hard, but there are promises on promises on promises that joy will triumph. The Word does not tell us that Joy “might” come in the morning, it tells us that Joy will come in the morning.
Jesus came to heal the brokenhearted. To seek and save the lost. Our pain does not have to become the story of our life, instead, it is our roadmap to joy. When we walk through pain, we have a blueprint to lead us right to the source of joy – relationship with Jesus.
And because we know this truth, because we operate in the truth of our eternity, we have faith that helps us see past the pain to the joy awaiting on the other side. Faith sees the end from the beginning. Faith sees the Joy despite the pain. Faith holds on for another day, and for Joy that surpasses all.
“I’ve told you these things for a purpose: that my joy might be your joy, and your joy wholly mature.” [John 15:11]
