Let Me Show You [Compel]

“There is no power above us or beneath us—no power that could ever be found in the universe that can distance us from God’s passionate love, which is lavished upon us through our Lord Jesus, the Anointed One!” [Romans 8:39]

Jesus did this amazing thing for us – He died on the cross so we could experience true, holy, all-encompassing Love. And the best part about it is that even though we make mistakes, that Love is still there, unchanged, waiting for us.

There are no prerequisites to Jesus’ love. There is no test we have to pass and no fee we have to pay. He doesn’t require us to do anything to earn His love. It’s His gift to us, and it’s one we could never pay for even if we had to.

There are no ultimatums. His love never leaves or forsakes us. There is nothing that we can do to separate us from the Love that God has for us. Nothing. In the highs and the lows and all the in-betweens, His love never wavers.

Jesus’ love is not performance based. We don’t have to try enough or be good enough or be qualified in any way. God just looks at our hearts. As long as the heart is in the right space – at a posture of love – we get the prize. Jesus just wants a relationship with our hearts.

Following Jesus is an every day decision, not a golden ticket into Heaven. And relationship with Christ is not an easy thing. God loves us too much to leave us broken and fearful, so He puts our hearts to work when we enter relationship with Him. He asks us to leave our agendas behind and follow Him, He cleans us from the inside out, He heals our wounds, and He leads us along in our walk with Him.

Jesus gave His life for us. For our brokenness, for our blunders, for our mistakes. He chose us still and took all that mess in because we have something to offer the Kingdom. All we have to do is accept His love and allow our lives to be a reflection of His goodness.
