Pastor Phillip O’Reilly
And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them. For God knew his people in advance, and he chose them to become like his Son, so that his Son would be the firstborn, among many brothers and sisters. And having chosen them, he called them to come to him. And having called them, he gave them right standing with himself. And having given them right standing, he gave them his glory.” [Romans 8:28-30]
Many times we think salvation is nothing more than a ticket into Heaven. However, the reason God saved us was not just for the after. It was so that we would bear His image on earth. He chose us, waited for us, and gave us righteousness so that we could prosper for His Kingdom.
His love for us and belief in our good is so strong that we learn in Romans that nothing can separate us from God. Nothing can overcome God’s love for us. That truth is one that can bring us into great freedom.
No matter what may happen on earth, there is an even bigger war in which God has already become victorious.
Despite this truth, it’s easy to get caught up in the things we don’t understand. God promises (through His love and sacrifice) to give us all things. The tricky part is that we don’t get to decide what that means. It may mean patience to endure a storm, perseverance to make it through the fire.
But no matter what, God’s love has already changed everything.
God will graciously give us all things. He already gave us the greatest gift of all – Jesus. And because of that, certainly He will give us all we need.
No one can bring a charge against us. God Himself declared us righteous – covered us in His righteousness.
No one will condemn us. Since Jesus died for us, was raised for us, and intercedes for us, His judgement is the only one that matters.
Nothing will separate us from the love of God. Nothing. With God on our side, nothing can stand against us.
“Who could ever separate us from the endless love of God’s Anointed One? Absolutely no one! For nothing in the universe has the power to diminish his love toward us.” [Romans 8:37-39]
