WHO WE ARE
The Rock of KC launched in the summer of 2003, with the aim to be a life-giving non-denominational church, centered around Jesus. It was birthed from a vision to love, serve, and share the hope of Jesus in Kansas City’s Northland, as well as surrounding communities.
“You can’t go to church… you can only BE the church.”
This a heartbeat of our community. We see all generations of people as vital in the process of walking out this great journey. Whether you are far from God or are actively looking for a community of faith to get connected to, we have a place for you!
OUR FOUNDING PASTORS
Pastors Phillip and Susan have been faithfully serving the local church for over 42 years, of which includes 20+ years at the Rock of KC.
In June of 2026, they completed the transition out of the Senior Pastor roles and into a new role as Founding Pastors. Although they have “retired” from the day to day, they both will continue to serve on our team, focusing on local missions, partnerships, pastoral care and more. Though they may have changed the "seat" that they're sitting in, they have remained on the "bus," continuing to forward the mission of the Rock under the leadership of Pastor Jonathan and Christie.
We are excited and faith-filled as we look ahead! The best is yet to come.
