Senior Pastor

Pastor Phillip has been the senior pastor of the Rock since its launch in 2003. He has been in full-time ministry for more 35 years, and truly has a love for preaching the Word and serving people! He has never met a stranger! His sense of humor and relatable way of teaching allows for people from all walks of life to engage and grow in their walk with God. He also enjoys hunting, riding his motorcycle and spending as much time as possible with his grandchildren!

Cherish + Hospitality

Pastor Susan has been in full-time ministry for more than 30+ years. She loves life and has a passion to see people connect with God! She has an engaging teaching style and leads our Cherish Women's ministry, hosting multiple gatherings a year. You can often find her connecting with people, always over coffee, or spending time with her grandchildren!

Executive Pastor

Connoisseur of coffee, style advisor, and ardently passionate about seeing Kansas City have an experience with Jesus. He leads the charge in capturing the vision from our senior leaders and putting it in action. He has an incredible wife and two amazing kids. (He is also adamant about seeing Kansas City get an NBA team in his lifetime!)

Worship + Production

Worship, along with music has been a huge part of Lucas’ life, and being able to lead the congregation and the worship team is such an honor every opportunity he gets. Seeing people respond to God through music and singing is such an awesome thing to see for him every week. His other loves include his wife Whitney, and their two pups Zeus and Zara. He is always down for a round of golf (as long as you don’t mind him using ALL of the mulligans.)

Connections + Volunteer Director

Devon is a gift to this team in many ways. Two of her primary roles are seeing new people find their place on one of our many serve teams, and also leading our Connect Groups. She and her husband have been a part of our church community for a number of years prior to her joining our Staff. They have a wonderful family and huge hearts to see the landscape of Kansas City altered for the glory of God!

RockKIDS! Director

Christy’s favorite part of her job is watching kids know what it means to have a relationship with Jesus and then begin to follow him. She loves to find ways to make the Bible easy for kids to understand and apply to their everyday lives. In her free time, this mama-to-be loves to travel, hang out with her hubby (Dane), daughters (Georgie+Millie) and puppy (Whitley), bake, watch her favorite sports teams (Go Royals, Go Chiefs) and decorate her home for the seasons.

Crew Youth Pastor

He is often found buried deep in a book! If not there, you’ll probably find him in some sort of theological conservation! He carries a great love and passion to see students experience all that God has for them. He is a great teacher of Scriptures and embodies a wisdom “beyond his years.”

RockKIDS! Nursery Director

Jessica loves working with kids and seeing their minds open to God’s love for them. Watching them worship and learn Bible verses is one of her favorite things to see each weekend. In her free time, Jessica likes to run, read, take naps, and watch reruns of her favorite shows (even though she’s seen them a million times) oh and hang out with her husband Chasey and daughters Sedona + Callie!

Creative Director

If he's not found remodeling his house or scouring Instagram or Pinterest for a new idea... you will find him working on creative ways to help the Rock look and feel like you are home. He and his wife Crystal have three kiddos, Estes, Scout and Sparrow.

Communications Director

Ashley has as many hands as she does hats. You hear it first from her on every social media platform and can expect to find her putting together Rock events and gatherings with ease, all while keeping her kids at dance recitals and practices, keeping her husband fed with new Magnolia recipes and also tossing treats to her dogs. She can also tell you exactly where every product at Target is located.

Administrative Assistant

It’s in the details for Corky. She makes sure all the t’s are crossed and all the I’s have the dots. Her tireless effort, dedication to completing tasks, and rapid email response are among the reasons we think she may never sleep! Corky and her husband Chuck have attended The Rock from the very beginning, knowing it is where God has planted them! She loves the fact her daughters and their families attend and serve here as well, especially since it means she sees her 5 grandchildren at least every weekend!

Production Director

Daniel leads our Production team, helping create great worship environments week in and week out through the avenue of audio, video and so much more! He brings a high level of excellence to our team and has a great desire to see people connect with Jesus! Outside of church, you’ll find him Hanging with his wife Jordan and son Zealand and also rooting tirelessly for the Oklahoma Sooners and maybe, just maybe, the Denver Broncos.
